Fundació Privada Ilersis has carried out a refurbishment of the building at 27 Ramon Argilés Street in Lleida, with the support of Fundación ONCE.
The aim of the work was to improve the accessibility, safety, comfort and energy efficiency of this space, which houses day care services, a dining room and activities linked to the occupational centre.
The building is more than 40 years old and is part of the organisation's history. With this refurbishment, Ilersis has adapted the spaces to the current needs of service users, professional teams and the services on offer.
The project has directly benefited 125 people with intellectual disabilities or mental illness who are service users and workers at the organisation. It has also improved conditions for 89 places in the Occupational Therapy Service and 56 places in the Occupational Integration Service.
The refurbishment has also made it possible to fit out spaces for therapeutic and support activities, such as cognitive stimulation, digital environments, speech therapy, physiotherapy, music therapy, theatre and therapeutic occupation.
The improvements include the installation of a new lift, adapted bathrooms with showers, the redistribution of spaces, new flooring, the repair of leaks, improved evacuation conditions, the replacement of the lighting with LED technology and the installation of a new heating, cooling and ventilation system.
