Ilersis renews its environmental quality label and PEFC certification for its wood products

Ilersis renueva el distintivo de calidad ambiental y la certificación PEFC para sus productos de madera

Fundació Privada Ilersis has recently renewed two key forms of recognition that underpin its commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. These are the Generalitat de Catalunya's Environmental Quality Guarantee Label (DGQA) and the PEFC certification for the wood used to make its wood products.

The DGQA certifies that Ilersis's wood products – cases, boxes, trays, game pieces and other formats for presenting agri-food and gift products – meet rigorous environmental criteria throughout their life cycle. This renewal validates the sustainable origin of the raw materials, the use of non-hazardous substances, emissions control and proper wastewater management.

At the same time, the PEFC forest certification has also been renewed, guaranteeing that around 80% of the wood used comes from sustainably managed forests . This certification is key to promoting the responsible management of forest resources and reinforces the organisation's commitment to a responsible supply chain.

Beyond its positive environmental impact, this project incorporates an inclusive social model , in which people with intellectual disabilities and other vulnerable groups work in a dignified, safe environment that adds value. In this way, Ilersis continues to be a benchmark for the circular economy and social innovation in the region.

In this respect, choosing the packaging products made by Ilersis is a tangible way of supporting a fairer, more circular and more inclusive economy. Every wood product that leaves the workshop not only meets demanding technical and environmental criteria, but also tells a story of effort, collaboration and values.
